Do you know how easy it is to make your own nut milk? It is surprisingly super super easy and saves you an extra trip to the grocery store when you run out of milk for your coffee. Also it gives you the ability to control your own sugar and leave out any extra additives that help preserve the milk. One of the main issue with nut milks in the store is that they put carrageenan in them. Although they are extracted from red edible seaweeds they are used as a thickening agent. Although derived from plants, it can be destructive to your digestive system, triggering an immune defense response and leading to inflammation. You can naturally sweeten your milk with dates or real vanilla for some added flavor. Using dates as a sweetener will also provide added fiber, minerals, and vitamins.
