Are you concerned that you didn’t get a lot done in 2020 and 2021? This may have been due to the onset and ongoing covid-19 pandemic. You probably spent a lot of time working from home and watching a lot of TV to pass the time. Those Netflix box sets were definitely binge-worthy.

Here are 5 ways you can get fit and stay healthy in 2022.

Goals 2022

Diet

Focusing on your diet should be a number one priority if you are wanting to lead a happy, healthy lifestyle. Diet is not only responsible for how you look but also how you feel on both the inside and outside. Try to include all the basic food groups into your meals, these include carbohydrates, proteins, fats, dairy, fruits, and vegetables. You should be aiming to consume at least five portions of fruit and vegetables a day.

Exercise

As well as your diet, exercise is an important factor in staying fit and well. You should be aiming to achieve at least 45 minutes of cardio each day. This helps keep you healthy and work off any excess calories you have consumed. Exercise is also a great way to feel good, this is due to the happy hormones that are released during a workout. You don’t have to do anything you deem to be exercise either, swimming is a fun activity that provides a full-body workout without the associated muscle aches.

If you struggle for motivation when it comes to exercise you could join a sports team. Take rugby, for example, it is a great team game and wearing your rugby team kit designs will make you feel welcomed and valued from day one.

Sleep

Sleep is vital for your body to function normally. If you are poorly then sleep is required far more frequently to repair anything that is going on inside your body. As an adult, you should be aiming for at least eight hours of sleep each night. If you fail to get this amount then you can become irritable and grouchy.

If you are struggling to get your eight hours, take a look as to why. It could be something as simple as your mattress is too old. You should only keep your mattress for eight years before investing in a new one.

Water

Your body is made up of 60% water, so it is essential you replace what is lost throughout the day. You should be drinking around two litres of water a day, this equates to eight glasses. Doing so will replenish all your vital organs and keep you hydrated so you can function as you should.

Socialize

Finally, it is worth a mention that socializing and meeting regularly with friends can mean a lot to your mental health. If you are stuck indoors a lot of the time then you don’t have much social interaction. It has been known that failing to go out and meet friends regularly can in fact raise your risk of developing Alzheimer’s and dementia.
